If only I'm not doing my thesis on summer and if only I'm not requiredto visit my site in Cebu then I could have asked my aunt to watch their concert there and visit my other aunt who lives in Japan too. Ugh. I want to watch them live again... SOON! Lucky lucky Japanese! :)

Visit Libera Concerts for more details.

hah hah, i like that one re "your own personal opinion"...

i really should say, what's with those japanese!!! you have your own "if only"...me i say, 'if only' japan can be travelled by bus (because i'm scared of air/water transport), if only it's that easy to apply for a visa and lastly, if only i have that much money to go to japan, all of st. philip's circle will have the chance to watch the concert, free accommodation, plus shopping money!! haaay, if only.....well, we can just dream & wish...

Lol! I didn't even thought about the visa! hahaha But I guess if I have the chance to watch them my aunt would sent over a visitation request or whatever it is called. Now, I'm getting excited to graduate, my aunt promised to tour me on Japan then Korea after graduation. I do hope there's Libera concert in time for that! hahaha :)

The Japs are really too lucky. Libera has been visiting them quite frequently. I hope they expand their market in new places. I really really hope they'd consider Singapore a venue for a concert next year.

I think they have lots of fans in Singapore too. I think someone should invite them. We're just lucky because Robert de Ocampo, former Secretary of Finance in Phil. and now chair of the British Alumni Association, likes Libera. He's the one who arranged their tour here.

They're fanbase here is expanding from what I know. It'd be so nice if someone invited them. But the expense and who will invite them is the problem. Syafiqah had an idea of writing in to National Arts Council in Singapore and introducing them and asking them to invite Libera, but who and how we'll write to them is the problem.

Gosh.. I bet the Japs sponsor them a lot.

and thank goodness we have mr. roberto de ocampo -and why didn't RJ or steve o'neal brought this group before? my golly, they were able to bring the cascades, petula clark, dionne warwick, the osmonds, connie francis and the most recent one, who sang 'how much is that doggie in the window'? and why missed libera who caters to the young and the music-minded, too? and if they were here earlier, we could have enjoyed more of tom cully's voice...oh well, guess we have to wait again, but no more tom with the high notes (sad).

You know, if Vienna Boys' Choir can perform here, why not Libera! My friend went to their concert last month? Oh man. Oh and apparently, my conductor does not know Libera at all :( This is bad news, Gen. I WISH LIBERA COMES TO SINGAPORE PLEASEEEEEE!

Gen: Their tour here is in line with UK-RP week too. I suggest you write to your British High Commission and ask them if it's possible for Libera to be ambassadors of UK in Singapore. :)

Tita Thelma: It's because RJ caters "pop" music and oldies. hahaha But true, RJ could have introduced Libera before and I think it will also a big hit cause the target audience will be mostly from high end people who appreciates good music rather than looks. And if he did that, that means more tv promotions from Libera too. :)

Hmm. I can't really think of any events that are in collaboration with UK. But a reason I can give is Singapore was once a British colony. Haha. I want to ask National Arts Council. But I'm really not one for sounding formal.

Is there such thing as Libera fansite from Singaporean fans? If you do you could ask the admins to write letter. :) But more fans would mean more chances to have Libera tour your country too. :)

No, no such thing. Not a lot of people know about them here yet. Which is truly saddening really. More people should be exposed to their music. Now, their music is something of exquisite quality.

Whoop..i really want Libera to come to Singapore! I demand them...ahahahhaa
Vienna Boys' Choir has visited singapore alr.
For me, Libera can be easily come to Singapore as Singapore and UK has a very strong connection. It is possible for Libera for having concert in Singapore. Yeah, absolutely possible. But, the problem is that Libera has very limited fans here. Not all people know them. If we compare to the Japs, no doubt that Libera is very famous there as their song has been used as a popular movie soundtrack.
Moreover, most of their concerts are held in Churches. But, do churches in SIngapore know about Libera? do they have a connection? and do SIngaporeans really know them? That's also a problem.I do know some of them as my cousin is in the same church. But I can't use my cousin to encourage them to come to Singapore due to some circumstences. :(

If you know someone who have a huge connections to people that might be able to bring Libera there then contact them. We're just really lucky because we have Mr. Robert de Ocampo who's also a fan. And about the Churches, as long as you have a venue that will be able to accommodate fans it wouldn't be a problem. Here's in Philippines they perform in Concert halls and theater. :)

I don't mind writing to NAC to ask them to invite Libera, but do they accede to such requests?

Hey guys, I think it might be possible.

I don't even mind having the concert at the Esplanade or the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Heck, even CHIJMES (sp?) will be a nice touch.

Maybe we can start a club first, garner some petitions to show our fanbase. Get some famous people to support us and send those petitions to NAC.

hi, I've created a facebook 'petition/group' in hopes to garner enough fans to show NAC that Singaporeans do listen to Libera.

Would appreciate if we could link/affiliate with each other!

thanks =)
